The route follows the Marsyangdi Valley through traditional Gurung, Manangi, and Thakali villages before ascending to Thorong La Pass (5,416 m), one of the highest trekking passes in the Himalayas. After crossing the pass, the trail descends to the sacred pilgrimage site of Muktinath and into the dramatic Kali Gandaki Valley.
