Mera Peak is Nepal’s highest trekking peak and one of the best objectives for trekkers seeking their first 6,000-meter Himalayan summit. Located in the remote Hinku Valley south of Everest, the climb combines beautiful wilderness trekking with a non-technical but physically demanding ascent to 6,476 meters.
Unlike the busy Everest Base Camp route, the approach to Mera Peak follows quieter trails through forests, traditional villages, and remote alpine valleys. The gradual ascent provides excellent acclimatization while offering a true sense of Himalayan exploration.
The summit of Mera Peak is famous for its extraordinary panorama. On a clear day, climbers can see five of the world’s fourteen highest mountains: Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, and Kanchenjunga.
